What reading level is Studies in the Bacteriology & Etiology of Oriental Plague book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Another point that requires elucidation is this : Granted that a proper salt emulsion of plague bacilli is viii AGGLUTINATION OF B. PESTIS 211 being used, and granted also tliat tlie sample of blood to be tested is used after the complete separation of tbe fibrin, the question arises. In what dilution and for what length of time should the test be carried out ? As is well known in the case of an animal well "prepared" with typhoid culture, or with cholera culture, agglutination is positive even
... when the animal's blood serum is used in very high dilutions — e.g. 1 in 200, 1 in 500, and even 1 in 1000 — agglutination (under the microscope) occurring in a decided fashion within the hour.
In the observations of some authors (Bordet) the addition of normal serum, the placing of the mixture in the hot incubator, and various other factors are introduced which have an accelerating influence on the agglutination.
These and similar observations are no doubt, both from a theoretical and practical point of view, of value.
