Having inquired of Jane Angel whether she had attended the West London Synagogue, and been told that she had, 19 Dr. Adler stated that he could not perform the ceremony of marriage himself, unless Daniel Angel would come back to the old synagogue ; but that he would allow the marriage to be performed by Mr. Henry, the minister of the Westminster Synagogue, if Jane Angel would sign a paper, promising never again to attend the West London Synagogue, and to conduct herself henceforth as a good Jewish woman.
