That the sixteen Exhibitions of one hundred pounds a year each be founded, as part of the Establish- ment of the said School, for the boys thereof, who shall go oflf to the University of Oxford or Cambridge, under the regulations hereinafter set forth.
XXX. That such boys as shall be of the first class of scholars, and shall be duly quahfied to receive such Exhi- bitions, shall be preferred to those of the second class.

...s of age, who shall respectively be appHcants to go off to College upon the said Exhibitions prior to Christmas one thousand eight hundred and twenty- nine, shall, in case such boys respectively shall, at the time of such apphcation, have been five years in the said School, immediately after such application, be examined by such person or persons as the Governors shall appoint ; and, if found duly qualified, such boys shall respectively be there- upon presented by the Governors to such Exhibitions, pro- vided that a number not exceeding two bo presented in any one year.
