Col. Robert Lettis Hooper, Jr., was a man of more than ordi- nary parts. During the Revolutionary War he at first lived in Lower Saucon Township,^'* but later, while filling the office of Deputy Quarter Master General, he lived in Easton, making his home in the stone house, still standing, at the northwest corner of Northampton and Fifth Streets.
