By the operation of all those ministers of licentiousness which wait on courts, where intrigue is the recognized arbiter of right and wrong, she was filled with the most des- perate of bold, bad men ; by the opportunities she aflforded for the display of learning and eloquence, she INFLUENCE AND MANNERS.
