Sir — I am glad to find you were successful & hope you do not now consider your half guinea ill laid out. I am glad also to find that your conjecture as to Nathaniel was right. I will now send you some better news, which will justify you in believin...g that you descend from the ancient stock whose line I sent you. I find that one of them named Robert had a son Daniel but he is said to have died at 3 years of age. I find no other Daniel, but this one instance shews the name to have been admitted into this Family Line & therefore it is not improbable that a later descendant since 1631 may have adopted the name for one ol his own children. If you can join on to this Stock you will have as excellent a Pedigree as most persons can boast oh If you still desire my assistance, let me know ; in that case, I shall want a copy of Daniel's Will.
