Once there, they could have de- manded a heavy ransom for her ; but the plot failed — it was discovered, and the woman killed. From that time forth strict guard was kept over the princess — no one was allowed to enter her presence except her own people, and no one left the palace without the knowledge and consent of Shir Singh.
