The crew of the vessel, sharing the impatience of the officers to be on the blue sea, sprang to their stations with alacrity, and obeying the orders as they were issued, they were soon walking round the capstan. When the cable was brought to a " short stay," the capstan was pawled, and the vessel was ready for the second oper- ation.
