Mackenzie believed that the canoe must be ahead, the Indians thought otherwise. The party walked onward and, after crossing a point of land, came again upon the river bank. With the other Indian Mackenzie crossed another long point, where the river made a big bend, and on reaching the river once ...more fired their pieces.
