The closest manifestation is the System Concepts Laboratory (SCL) at Xerox PARC. SCL is looking out five to ten years to explore computer-supported group technology and practice. Half the lab is physically located in Palo Alto and half is in Portland. Audio, video, and data links are available between the two groups 24 hours a day. They are emphasizing informal collaborative work for groups of two to ten people.
