Milk is poured into the can through the top cover and water through the funnel tube at the side. 258. A great many trials of this dilution method of cream raising have been made at experiment stations. Professor Wing, of Cornell University, has tried three different kinds of apparatus devised for this purpose. He did not get nearly so complete a separation of cream with any of them as was obtained by the centrifugal separator, the shallow setting or the deep setting of the milk in cold water.
